Abiding in the Word.

"Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me."

John 6:57

I'm just a fan of a baby in pjams.

Here's our future blind Olympian.

Andrew did some weed eating in the yard and he came in like this... nice sock line.

We met our first western praying mantis... such incredible little creatures!

Amos had to wear a cone of shame for a few days because of the sore on his leg.
Lima Bean has a very diverse taste in food. She currently likes to eat her weight in black olives.

 Here's Amos' official caretaker.

Her self-serve breakfast.

And this would be the results of me trying to take the said breakfast from her...

A sleeping baby never gets old.

Preparing for the Olympics with a little jungle gym attempt. It was 10s across the board.

Eating french toast for the first time. She loved it. We avoid gluten here at the Jones' household so it was rice bread, but it didn't seem to phase her. That's my girl!

This would be a result of Lima Bean getting hold of my phone without me realizing it. I think we have a photographer in the making... agreed?

I hope you all have a marvelous week. In support of Chick-fil-A, I would encourage you to visit your local CFA this Wednesday, August 1, as it has been declared Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day! Let's come together to support a truly wonderful company.

Week 43.

Lima Bean is sad because her Auntie Rach left for GA today. "Come back!!"

Abiding in the Word.

"I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."

John 6:51

 She loves food!

Sleepy heads.

Lima Bean loves to play in a blanket. She rolls up and all around. :)

Our other pet... she begs just as much as the pups.

Quite the socialite!

 And the trouble begins...

A typical post-nap expression.

This guy had to visit the vet on Tuesday. Amos had a pretty bad hole on his leg from darting out of the house (without permission, of course) to chase a rabbit. The vet had to do minor surgery and he got stitches. Of course, those said stitches have since popped out and his hole has turned in to a major gash. I guess it's back to the vet tomorrow! Oh the joys...

Broken Hearted.

Ugh it's been a tough day for me. I try not to do too much venting or complaining here (who wants to read about a debbie-downer, right?) but today I have a heavy heart.

It started on Wednesday when Chick-fil-A began getting attacked for Dan Cathy's statement on gay marriage. There's an article here that might give you a little more information if you are unaware of the situation. To sum it up, Mr. Cathy stated that CFA believes in the biblical definition of a family unit and opposes gay marriage.

Oh boy... did this open up a can of worms for CFA - especially operators! Now I support Mr. Cathy whole heartedly. Call me crazy, but I believe Chick-fil-A, as a privately owned company, has every right to believe whatever they like. That's the benefit of America, right? What happened to freedom of speech or religion? Wasn't that what the Founding Fathers wanted for America?

Please be praying for Chick-fil-A. Pray that the Lord would bless them for not wavering on what they believe is biblical. Ultimately, as Christians, that is what we are called to do, right?

Be praying especially for our dear friends Daniel and Rachel Mitchell who own a Chick-fil-A right outside of Boston. To say that they are going to be encountering some boycotting is a likely understatement. The Boston mayor even made a statement that he vows to keep Chick-fil-A out of the city.

On top of that, add a horrific shooting at a movie theater in Aurora, CO. You can check out the story here. A foolish 24 year old kid decided to go nuts in a crowded, late night movie - killing at least 12 and wounding over 50 last night. Why does someone do something so devastating? Who does that boy think he is? Sin is rampant in our world, and it is sickening.

Truly my heart just hurts today. Let us come together to pray for our country. Pray for salvation of America. Pray for hearts to be turned to Christ - our gracious Savior, our loving Father, our mighty King.

On a side note, however, guess who provided meals to the police officers working on the shooting case in Aurora at 5 a.m. today?

Chick-fil-A.

Funny, huh?

Here's LB's 42 week shot... better late than never!

Abiding in the Word.

"But know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him."

Psalm 4:3

I've decided that Sundays are going to be picture Sundays... I'm going to post all the pics that I take on my phone throughout the week. Now you'll really be able to see what's up with the Jones. :)

Lima Bean "helping" with the mowing... aka she took one small ride around the driveway.

Facetime with MyTy and GranDude.

A stray kitten showed up on our doorway Monday night. We tried to catch it, but it ran off. I fretted over the poor guy, and not until Wednesday did it reappear. Much to our dismay, it had a seriously broken leg. We took it to the Humane Society where it received medical treatment. On the 18th, if we'd like to adopt, we can go get it. Although I got attached in the 12 hrs we had it, I think it'll have to find another home.

Lima Bean has become quite the little eater. She really likes raspberries and goat cheese. :)

A good friend from college came to visit - Allie.
Here we are in our friend Amanda's signature "girlfriends" pose. :)

Here's LB out and about in downtown Colorado Springs for a girls' lunch.

After lunch, we went on a drive to Helen Hunt Falls. On the way up, we passed these two deer - about 6 ft. from our car.

The next day, Andrew, Rachel, LB, Allie, and I took a trip to the top of Pike's Peak. We let Lima Bean ride out of her seat since the ride moves slowly. Here's how she entertained herself.

Making our way up to the top.

We made it!

The drive to the top wore LB out.

Cow Appreciation Day

If you look closely, above Lima Bean's left eye is a little bruise. She fell last night, and her bruise decided to stay around. It's her battle wound.
