On the road again

Howdy from Houston!

I'm here on business with Chick-fil-A. {I must say I feel pretty official when I say that even though it's really nothing to brag about} :)

I flew in yesterday and I leave tomorrow. I have two photo shoots total and then it's back to windy Cheyenne.

Just call me Nigel Barker {photographer extraordinaire}.

Ok just kidding. But on a side note, I did work with my man Nigel once. It was a while back when I had an internship with the incredibly feminist PINK Magazine- which is no longer running (and don't try to Google it - a shady magazine pops up. I found out the hard way).

Anyway. During this overnight trip I took to NY for the photo shoot with Nigel, I debated back and forth whether or not I should ask him for his autograph. I was supposed to look all professional and act as if I ran in the same circles of friends as he did (uh, yeah right), but the urge to ask for his autograph just kept bubbling up. Needless to say, even after having a few sips of his coffee (no I don't have a disease and no I don't know why he offered), as the art director of PINK and I were walking out, I frantically turned around and said I would never forgive myself if I didn't ask for his autograph. Although slightly mortified as he pulled out a head shot of himself from his desk and signed it "To Anne with love from Nigel," I can honestly say I was able to rest easy that night as I lay with his picture by my pillow... not to mention I still have that handsome picture of my man proudly displayed on the mantel.

Ok not really.

But he really does call me from time to time to check in and see how things are going. So sweet.

Ok that's not true either.

Well that's all for now. Signing off with love from Houston!

My time in Austin

My photo shoot in Austin ended earlier than expected (10:30 am as opposed to noon), but my flight to Denver didn't leave until 4 pm so the operator of the CFA and her husband, Priscilla and Philip, invited me to lunch. We went to a place on Lake Travis called Iguana. It was such a pleasant time. We enjoyed lunch outdoors, overlooking Lake Travis. I felt like a famous person :)

After lunch, I drove around downtown for a short time. It is an incredible city. I would love to go back some time! For the time being, however, Cheyenne will suit me just fine.

here a moo, there a moo

When I entered the elevator at the Hampton Inn last night and watched as the door closed behind me, I knew I was in good hands...

(please excuse poor quality... taken on my phone)

Now that is a hotel after Chick-fil-A's own heart... and mine, of course.

I'm in Austin right now, curled up in my KING size bed at the LaQuinta Inn, and about to dive back in to my book. Ahh, the life. I just need my man snuggled up by my side. :)

Business trip

Currently, I am on day two of a week long Chick-fil-A business trip. I am doing some contract photography work for CFA, which requires me to travel. Of my four stops on this trip, two have been in Charlotte.  What a blessing it has been to be in Charlotte and spend some time with my brother and his family.  Here we are at dinner.'

Thank you, Carla and Joby, for the family time. I love you all!
