Abiding in the Word.

"Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator."

Home sweet home.

Andrew and I are home in Atlanta... Wahoo! We flew in on Friday, March 25, and are staying until April 1. A week with family - total bliss.

Unfortunately I'm not technically in Atlanta right this second, however, but rather Virginia Beach, VA. I'm on a business trip for three days. When we first planned our trip home around my business trip, I thought that was a brilliant idea... until I got home. Of course, then I didn't want to leave! So I'm counting down the minutes until I'm back in the ATL.

Nevertheless, I was able to spend a wonderful evening with family - my dad's brother's family - in Richmond last night. We enjoyed a dinner out, I got to meet my first cousin once removed, Lena (adorable, of course), and we shared many laughs - THANK YOU FOWLER FAMILY! Love to you all. (oh and go VCU!)

I drove from Richmond to VA Beach today, after a photo shoot, and had dinner with a friend at a seafood place. It was nice. I have one more photo shoot tomorrow morning and then I'm off to Atlanta. :)

I apologize for no scripture memory verse as of yet... it's been a whirlwind of a week thus far. Expect to see that up tomorrow.

As for now... Lima Bean and I are headed to bed. We're pooped.

Currently craving.

Don't judge...

Thanks.

Thank you to all who have been so encouraging and supportive of our recent news on Lima Bean.

Words cannot express our gratitude for you all, our friends and family. We miss you very much and treasure the sweet memories we have with you. Praise be to God for His loving kindness by giving us life-long relationships!

Love,

Meet Lima Bean.

I'd like to introduce to you Lima Bean... our little Lima Bean. The little bean that will one day be our baby boy or girl.

*Note: for the time being, Lima will be referred to as "he." Later on (week 20), we should find out if we need to alter the gender. :)

Lima Bean is currently about 11 weeks old, but already very active and growing very quickly. He is currently the size of a large lime.

Yesterday, Andrew and I got to see Lima for the first time. It was such a sweet time. For all of you parents out there, I know you can relate.

As mentioned yesterday, Lima likes to dance around. He was all over the place during the ultrasound... the doctor had to chase him down just to get a heartbeat! When she recorded the heartbeat, we learned that right now his heartbeat is 174 bpm... major metabolizing going on! According to a source, it's been said that babies with a higher heart rate typically turn out to be girls. Nevertheless, we're gonna stick to a "he" for now.

Andrew and I were going back and forth as to whether or not we should post an ultrasound pic of the baby online - not certain if people wanted to see a pic like that involuntarily, but we decided we would because he's just so cute. :)

So, family and friends, please meet Lima Bean.

Please excuse poor quality... photo taken with my phone.
In the first photo, you can see Lima's big head and arms extended. The middle photo looks like he has on a face mask. The last photo makes it look like we might have a nose picker on our hands. :)

You can be certain that you will be reading many more posts about our Lima Bean.

Hello heartbeat.

Andrew and I got to experience one of the neatest things today.  We got to hear the heartbeat of our little baby today.

Yes, that's right, I said our little baby. It turns out I'm pregnant!

Surprise! A surprise to all involved, I might add. ;) Nevertheless, Andrew and I couldn't be more thrilled.

We found out about 6 weeks ago, but we wanted to wait until the end of my first trimester to make sure everything was going well before we shouted it from the rooftops.  Everything seems to be ok, so we decided we would officially shout it out!

My due date was originally October 2, but we found out today, after an ultrasound, that it looks more like October 8. Since we had an ultrasound, not only did we hear the baby's heartbeat, we got to see the baby... its cute little head, arms, and legs. The little dude was jumping all around - it even looked like he was clapping his hands at one point. :)

So that's that. Parenthood here we come!

AJ's Birthday.

Just a little recap on Andrew's birthday.

I made a rice krispie's birthday cake, and took it to work.

AJ cut half of the cake up in pieces for the CFA crew, so I didn't get pictures of him with all of the candles lit. Nevertheless, when we got home, we lit the number candles and sang.

Before we I sang to Andrew, we went out for wings in Fort Collins.

Don't be alarmed by the slightly shady sign... the wings are good.
When we got back from dinner, we had some family time with the pups. The dogs just got haircuts, so they look slightly naked. Amos especially looks goofy :)

The dogs are happy, I promise.

Abiding in the Word.

I hope you all are enjoying the weekly Scripture verses. Here is this week's verse. I'm going to begin an index of the verses, so if ever you'd like to access previous verses, you may.

I Thessalonians 5:16-18

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

God bless.

Hola Hermana.

So far, Andrew and I have had the privilege of hosting family from the Jones side, but this week, we were pleased to have a Fowler stay with us. :)

My sister and her husband, Kate and Charles, stopped in for two nights to visit. They had come out to ski at Steamboat Springs, and we were fortunate enough to have them stay with us as well.

Unfortunately I didn't take a single picture, nevertheless, fun was had by all. Andrew and I showed them around Cheyenne, we went for dinner in Fort Collins one night, and we enjoyed taking it easy at the good 'ol apartment.

Thank you Kate and Charles for coming by... it was great to see more family! We love you both.

Happy Birthday Andrew.

Today my man turns 25! Wow.... a quarter of a century old. He's getting up there. :)

I will be celebrating all day. Although we don't have anything planned for his bday (we both have to work at the store for quite a while today), that doesn't mean we can't party all day long. Feel free to join.

There are many things that I appreciate about Andrew. First off, he is one of the most genuine people I know. What you see is what you get. I love that. Plus, who can pass down that smile?

(Andrew is the one on the left)
He makes me laugh so much. But he also makes me think... he's super smart. So smart he can even fry pickles.

AJ is incredibly talented at pretty much any sport.

(Riding behind a dune buggy counts)
AJ is on the right
He's a great dad... well you know what I mean.

Andrew is one of the most thoughtful people I know. He cares about me and he truly cares for all of his family and friends.

He is a very hard worker. He is extremely committed to Chick-fil-A. I'm proud of his diligence to get in that store every single day of the week and do his thing. And he never complains. In fact, I think his gratefulness to even have a steady job shines through. He is passionate about making the CFA store excel. He gets excited about making improvements and loves to talk about his visions. He is a true business man at heart and has such integrity. Again, I'm so proud of him.

Note the bunny ears... I might change my mind about this post...
I just love him. I'm so glad we are able to share life together. He makes life so happy.

Happy birthday AJ.

I love you.

Abiding in the Word.

Colossians 3:16

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God."

Have a blessed week!

Tomorrow's a big day... AJ will be the big 2-5!!

Something new.

I use Tabletalk for my daily devotions. For many, you are familiar with this magazine subscription from Ligonier Ministries.  I have treasured my time studying the Word with Tabletalk as my guide.

Each week, Tabletalk provides readers with a section called "Abiding in the Word." This section has a weekly Bible verse that generally correlates with the daily studies for that particular week.

I am going to start sharing this verse with you all on Sundays, and for any who might be interested, we can commit this verse to memory. I think it would be neat to know that some of us might be hiding God's Word in our hearts as a group. So, anyone up for the challenge?

Obviously I'm starting out a little late this week, but better late than never!

For those of you who might be interested in subscribing to Tabletalk, check out Ligonier.org for more info. If you already have a daily routine for studying God's Word, then consider this as a guide for your family worship. It is truly a wonderful study!

1 John 3:2

"Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is."
